Casual Creatives is an initiative to get design students creating casually again, with no pressure or constraint. We encourage that you break the rules, have fun - and tag a friend. We wanted to provide our year across the UK with something that supports creatives to enjoy creating in a non-stressful way, engaging with us and communicating with friends during a time where it is hard to do so. Every week, we release a 'Share', 'Make' and 'Create' on our Instagram account, with guideline times to make sure these activities don't take up too much time. After completing whichever activity a user prefers, a story tagging their friend(s) to take part passes the baton along. At the beginning of each week, we post a few outcomes that have caught our eye, showcasing them to continue on this chain of networking. The account has many creative individuals on there, meaning the community can continue on growing. This project was part of the 'Creative Community' module at university, but we felt it was needed during this time to make sure support, community and encouragement was out there for creative students in such a tough time. Casual Creatives has pushed me to think outside the box and to not be scared - we are all human!
