Whilst researching into recent work and events happening around the world to do with the climate, I started looking more specifically at climate change protests. I found the signs made by members of the protests rather striking, with their aim to catch the eyes of those watching. I wanted to focus on that element, spending a morning using a large paintbrush to create rough and detailed letters, making up the words 'THERE IS NO PLANET B'. After scanning these in and editing them, I then played a lot with the composition of a few covers with different letters over them, adjusting elements of the books to keep the legibility. I let the title and review typefaces simplistic to let the brushstrokes stay prominent on the cover. When displayed in store, the books will be compiled together to spell out the words of the sign - creating a striking in store display for customers and passers by to see, maintaining the message the protests have through the medium of the book.
