When home from university, I live in between London and Brighton. I began to notice the shift in the cities around me and how they changed to work around me as I got older, and I wanted to reflect this in my work. I decided to explore this in a photographic series exploring the city at night, and how the cloak of nighttime had turned a once friendly city into a mysterious, dangerous and exciting place to wander through the lens of a DSLR. This collection of photos captures the danger, seduction and the thrill of the city during the night, and shows how multifunctional and exotic these hubs of energies that are cities can weld themselves to become possible for anything. The connotations of the overwhelming red seen in the images alongside the neon ambience, and rough exteriors and interiors all create a furiously captivating and devilishly alluring place, all seemingly wiped away by dawn.
